Paul Rader, America's pioneer radio preaher, begins a series of evangelistic services at a temporary wall-less structure in Chicago. Later a permanent building is contructed, and the Chicago Gospel Tebernacle is established.

Tabernacle Scouts is formed by Clarence Jones, with the help of scoutmasters Richard Oliver and Lance Latham. The club's goal is to "win every boy for Christ."

Lance and Virginia Latham initiate youth clubs at the Tabernacle. Up to 600 youth attend weekday club meeting. That is the roots of Awana back in 1920s.
